Chandra Yoga Wimbledon is the result of the vision and the desire to bring the true meaning of Yoga to the local community. In this day and age there are so many kinds of Yoga to choose from; Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, Hot Yoga, Power Yoga, there is even Goat Yoga. With all these different approaches, it's easy to lose sight of the real meaning and purpose of Yoga.
To quote one of the great proponents of Yoga in the west: 'Health is wealth, Peace of Mind is Happiness, Yoga shows the Way.' The true purpose of Yoga is simply to enlighten, revitalise and rejuvenate the practitioner. Yoga helps us to let go and relax so we can elevate our consciousness
and energy. Through the proper practice of Yoga we can be the best versions of ourselves.
No matter what kind of Yoga you choose to practice the important thing is that you feel comfortable and you feel better in yourself because of your practice. Yoga strengthens both body and mind and here at Chandra Yoga Wimbledon that's exactly what we want to help you do. Our yoga studio is a peaceful haven where, no matter your level, you can develop your yoga practice and peace of mind.
In life the people and the groups that we associate with can have profound effects on our mental, emotional and physical well-being. At Chandra Yoga Wimbledon we are here to provide positive association and a yoga studio where you can find peace.
Through the practice of Classical Hatha Yoga we learn to cultivate true inner peace, to realise Saccidānanda (Sanskrit: सच्चिदानन्द): true being, consciousness, and happiness.
Our bespoke yoga studio is set up for more intimate classes, with less students than the average studio. In larger studios it can be more difficult to follow the instructor and also for the instructor to correct any mistakes in form and posture, this is especially true for beginner and intermediate level practitioners.
At our studio in Merton Abbey Mills we limit our class sizes to 5 practitioners per session, in this way we can help you get the most out of your time on the mat.
Here at Chandra Yoga Wimbledon we practice Classical Hatha Yoga. Our main instructor and owner has practiced yoga for over 18 years and was classically trained in Hatha Yoga at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Ashram in Kerala, India.
Whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced practitioner we are here to help you on your journey. Yoga is principally a practice of connection with your self and through the cultivation of this awareness lasting health of body, mind, and emotion can be achieved.
